Western Illinois Museum provides an opportunity for all ages to learn about the history and culture of west central Illinois. Drawing from its collection of over 6,000 artifacts as well as artifacts from the community, the museum mounts three to four thematic exhibitions a year. The museum staff and docents welcomes visits from schools, clubs, and centers.
For each exhibit a number of educational programs are offered for all ages. Visit the Event page for more details or sign up for a monthly newsletter to keep up to date on upcoming programs and events.
The museum staff will work with each group's interests to make the visit more meaningful and educational. To arrange a special tour for your group contact the museum. Advance notice is recommended for groups larger than 15.
Western Illinois Museum is dedicated to teaching local history as a supplement to what is being taught in the classroom.
